Pokemon Pinball was first released on the Game Boy Color in 1999. The game features tables modeled after the popular Pokemon Red and Blue games. The game has a Catch 'em All mode and an Evolution mode, and players can upgrade their pokeballs for higher scores. Several Mini Games allow players to customize their experience by choosing a particular Pokemon or level. For an extended experience, try the online version. However, if you're looking for a casual gaming experience, you may want to look elsewhere.
The game has anti-frustration features. Players have 60 seconds to complete the Map Move, and they only need three bumper hits to save a ball. Pikachu can also appear under the exit lanes and rebound the ball onto the field. The Pikachu bonus features two Pikachus on the field, and the game will automatically begin Catch 'Em, Evolution, and Map Move modes. It is worth noting that the re-release of the Game Boy Color version does not have this feature.
