Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes[a] is a Capcom-developed crossover fighting game. As part of the Marvel vs. Capcom series, Marvel vs. Capcom 3 incorporates characters from Capcom video games as well as Marvel Comics characters. In 1998, the game had its arcade premiere in Japan and the United States. The Dreamcast version was released in 1999, and the PlayStation version was released in 2000. Marvel vs. Capcom Origins re-released the game for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2012.
Players choose a team of Marvel and Capcom characters to engage in fight and try to knock out their rivals. Characters from other Capcom video game brands, rather than just Street Fighter, are included in this installment of Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter. However, Clash of the Super Heroes has two major alterations from its predecessor: a new "Variable Cross" attack and the removal of the standard character support system.
